Dear Mum, I’ve created a free guide to help you feel more confident with your newborn 🧡
|
Natural, baby-led newborn photography in your own home, for families across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Your baby does not need to sleep, your home does not need to be perfectly tidy and you do not need to know how to pose. I will guide you while working around what your baby needs on the day.
For families who want to remember how it felt, not just how it looked.
The first weeks with a baby rarely run according to plan.
You may be tired, feeding may still feel unpredictable and getting everyone dressed might already feel like enough for one morning. I do not expect your family to be completely ready when I arrive.
Most of the session happens with your baby safely in your arms. I will guide you towards the best light, show you where to sit or stand and make small adjustments when needed.
You do not need to invent poses or perform for the camera. Your job is simply to stay close to your baby.
A calm morning at home
01
We begin with a conversation and give everyone time to relax. There is no need to start taking photographs immediately.
02
I look around your home and choose the spaces that will photograph well. We normally need only one or two rooms.
03
We pause whenever your baby needs feeding, changing, winding or a cuddle. Your baby can be asleep or awake.
04
I will show you where to sit, how to hold your baby towards the light and what to do when something feels awkward.
05
I photograph the little details as well as your family together. The way your baby curls up in your arms, the tiny fingers, the cuddles and the moments between you that happen naturally throughout the session.
Baby-led newborn photography in Glasgow
After photographing hundreds of newborns and raising three children of my own, I have learned to notice the small signs that a baby may need winding, another feed, a cuddle or simply a quieter room.
If your baby wants to remain in your arms, that is where I photograph them. If they are awake, we do not wait for them to fall asleep. If they need a break, we stop.
Lifestyle newborn photography is not completely documentary. I will guide you and find the most suitable light, while leaving space for the interaction between you to remain real.
I have photographed newborn sessions in small flats, darker rooms and homes still filled with moving boxes. We can move a bedside table, hide a cable or clear a small area before we begin.
There is no need to pack for your baby or travel to a studio. That is the main difference between a studio session and in-home newborn photography: everything your baby may need is already close by.
If you are unsure what to wear, I can help you coordinate clothes you already own. I can also bring selected dresses from my Client Wardrobe for you to try.

Your newborn session can include everyone important to your family.
Older children usually join us for short periods rather than being expected to participate throughout the whole session. We work around their personality and energy without forcing them to sit still or smile.
Family pets are welcome too. They do not need to behave perfectly to be included.
A Glasgow newborn photographer and mum of three
I remember the broken nights, changing hormones and physical recovery after birth. I know that inviting someone into your home during those first weeks can feel like a lot.
I am not coming to judge your home or how confidently you have adjusted to being a parent.
We normally spend some time talking about the birth, your recovery, how your baby sleeps and how you are finding life together. It helps me understand what you need from the session and gives everyone time to become comfortable with me.
After more than 10 years as a newborn and baby photographer in Glasgow, and over 400 photographed families, I know when to offer direction, when to wait and when a family simply needs a moment without the camera.
Tell me your due date or your baby’s current age, where you live and a little about your family.
A £59 deposit secures your booking. If your baby has not yet arrived, I reserve space around your due date and confirm the final date after the birth.
Before the session, I will send you a short preparation guide and help with clothing if needed.
Most newborn sessions last around 90 minutes to two hours, with time for feeding, changing and settling.
After the session, you will view your gallery and choose the photographs and collection you would like. Your £59 deposit will be deducted from the collection you select.

The things parents ask most
You can contact me while you are pregnant. I reserve space around your due date and confirm the session once your baby arrives. You can also enquire after the birth if I still have availability.
Many sessions take place during the first two to eight weeks, but there is no strict deadline. Older newborns and babies can also be photographed naturally at home.
Crying is normal and does not mean the session has failed. We pause for feeding, changing, winding, cuddling or quiet whenever needed.

No. We normally use only one or two suitable areas. I am happy to move small objects and help clear the space we need.
Yes. Parents, older children and family pets are welcome to take part.
Most newborn sessions last approximately 90 minutes to two hours. This gives us time to work around your baby without rushing.
