BUMP TO BABY PHOTOGRAPHY GLASGOW: TWO SESSIONS, ONE STORY
Before our first son was born, my husband and I had been together for almost ten years. It felt like such a long and important part of our story.
And then our baby arrived.
Within weeks, life before him already felt strangely distant. Not less important, just harder to reach. The days became fuller and more intense, and we quickly started learning how to be a family of three. Even after almost ten years together, it became difficult to remember exactly what our life had felt like when it was still only the two of us.
That is why I believe the time before your baby arrives deserves to be photographed alongside the weeks that follow.
A maternity session preserves the family you are just before everything changes. A newborn session captures the beginning of the family you are becoming. Separately, they are meaningful. Together, they tell the whole story.
But it is not simply two bookings placed next to each other.
It is a way of documenting the transition between waiting for your baby and finally holding them. The people in both sets of photographs are the same, but almost everything else has changed.
In the maternity photographs, there is anticipation. In the newborn photographs, that little person you were waiting for is suddenly here, with their own expressions, sounds and favourite way to settle in your arms.
Photographed with the same natural approach, the two sessions feel like parts of the same story rather than two unrelated galleries.
CHAPTER ONE: YOUR MATERNITY SESSION
Your Bump to Baby experience begins with a relaxed maternity session at home or outdoors.
Some families want open space, movement and the Scottish landscape around them. Others prefer the privacy of home, where the photographs can feel quieter and more intimate. There is no setting that is right for everybody. We choose the one that feels most like you.
Your partner and older children can be included. This is not only about creating photographs of your bump. It is also about remembering your relationship and the shape of your family immediately before someone new joins it.
During the session, I will guide you so you never have to wonder what to do. But I will not ask you to perform a perfect version of pregnancy for the camera. We can walk, talk, cuddle, play with the children and allow real moments to happen in between.
You do not need to know your preferred image collection before the maternity session. After you see your gallery, you can explore the available photography collections and choose the one that feels right for you. If you prefer to plan the complete experience in advance, you can choose the Bump to Baby Story package, which includes both sessions.
There is no need to pack a changing bag, leave the house or worry about whether your baby will sleep at the right time. Your home already holds everything your baby needs, and the session follows their rhythm.
We pause for feeding, changing and cuddles whenever necessary. Your baby does not have to sleep throughout the session, and I do not place them into complicated poses. Most of the photographs happen naturally in your arms, on your bed or wherever your family feels comfortable together.
I look for the details that are easy to miss when the days and nights begin to blend into one another: the way your baby fits against your chest, their hand wrapped around your finger, your partner looking at them and the expressions that pass between you when nobody is trying to create a photograph.
WHY BOOK YOUR MATERNITY AND NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOTS TOGETHER?
You preserve the change, not only two separate moments
The maternity photographs show the family you are before the birth. The newborn photographs show the first version of the family you are becoming. Together, they make the change visible.
There can be small visual echoes between the sessions: your hands resting on your bump and later holding your baby, an older child leaning close before the birth and meeting their sibling afterwards, or the same couple moving from anticipation into parenthood.
You already know what being photographed with me feels like
By the time I arrive for your newborn session, we have already met and worked together. You know that I will guide you, that you do not need to pose perfectly and that it is completely normal for family life to be unpredictable.
That familiarity can make the newborn session feel like a continuation rather than another appointment with a new person during an already intense time.
The newborn session is already part of the plan
The maternity photographs show the family you are before the birth. The newborn photographs show the first version of the family you are becoming.
There can be small visual echoes between the sessions: your hands resting on your bump and later holding your baby, an older child leaning close before the birth and meeting their sibling afterwards, or the same couple moving from anticipation into parenthood.
THE BUMP TO BABY STORY – £829

Booked separately, the two Connection collections would cost £918. The Bump to Baby Story costs £829, saving you £89.
A £59 booking payment reserves your maternity session and provisional newborn availability around your due date.
The remaining balance is split between the two sessions, so you do not need to pay for the whole experience at once.
You do not need to pay for the complete experience at once.
Thinking about documenting both chapters?
Tell me your due date and whether you imagine your maternity session at home or outdoors.
WOULD YOU RATHER CHOOSE AFTER SEEING EACH GALLERY?
You can still book your maternity and newborn photography as a two-part story without committing to the £829 collection at the beginning.
We photograph the maternity session first, and you choose your maternity collection after viewing the gallery. The collection you select determines the benefit you receive when you return for your newborn session.
If you choose the smallest maternity collection, you receive additional edited photographs with your newborn collection. The usual newborn session fee still applies.
If you choose the middle or highest maternity collection, the £59 newborn session fee is waived.
This gives you the freedom to make your decision after seeing the photographs. However, if you already know you would like 30 photographs from each session, the Bump to Baby Story offers the best overall value and includes the short film created from both chapters.
If you would like to understand what happens from your first enquiry to receiving your finished photographs, you can also explore how the photography experience works.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK BUMP TO BABY PHOTOGRAPHY?
It is best to enquire while you are pregnant. This gives us time to plan your maternity session and reserve provisional newborn availability around your due date.
Your maternity session can take place at home or outdoors, depending on how you would like this part of your story to feel. We will discuss the right time for your session when you enquire.
You do not need to predict the exact day your baby will arrive. Once they are here and you feel ready, we arrange the newborn session together.
WHEN DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION TAKE PLACE?
There is no need to choose an exact date before your baby is born. I reserve provisional availability around your due date, and once your baby arrives, we arrange the session for a time that feels right for your family.
Your baby does not need to be photographed within the first few days or be asleep for the session. My newborn sessions are baby-led and take place at home, so there is time for feeding, changing and settling whenever needed.
CAN MY PARTNER AND OLDER CHILDREN TAKE PART?
Yes. Both sessions are about your family, not only individual portraits of the mother and baby.
Partners and older children are welcome to take part in the maternity and newborn sessions. Including them helps the two galleries connect because we can document how their relationship with the baby changes from waiting to finally meeting them.
WHERE DO THE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Your maternity session can take place outdoors at a location we choose together or in your home. Your newborn session takes place at home, where your baby and family can remain comfortable and follow their normal rhythm.
I photograph Bump to Baby stories across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and surrounding areas of Scotland. Travel charges may apply to locations farther from Glasgow, and I will always confirm these before you book.
TWO CHAPTERS YOU WILL NEVER LIVE IN THE SAME WAY AGAIN
The time before your first baby arrives can feel permanent while you are living it. You may have shared years together as a couple, yet after only a few weeks of life with your baby, that earlier version of your relationship can already feel far away.
Then the newborn stage disappears just as quickly.
You do not have to remember every detail perfectly. Photographs can hold some of it for you: the way you looked at each other while you were waiting, the shape of your family before the birth and the first days of learning how to hold, comfort and love the person who changed it all.
That is what the Bump to Baby experience is for.
