Well, it’s a beautiful blend of documentary-style photography and posed portraits.
The goal of these sessions is to capture everyday life in an artistic way, focusing on genuine emotions and the authenticity of the family life time.
In lifestyle newborn sessions, I provide some direction, but it’s not about stiff poses.
Let me give you an example to better illustrate what I mean. Imagine a newborn photos where the family is seated on the bed. I might suggest the best angle for optimal lighting, but I don’t ask them to stay still. Instead, each family or couple will naturally find their own comfortable way of sitting.
Another example is when I photograph a mother with her baby. I simply ask her to hold her little baby in the most comfortable way for both of them. Then I capture the beautiful moment of her cuddling her child.
Even though it may seem like the same pose, it’s never identical because each mother and baby are unique. The way they cuddle is special and unique to them, making each gesture and glaze wonderfully distinct.
I absolutely love the convenience of doing newborn baby, children and family photography at my client’s homes. There’s no rush or stress of leaving the house, and both the baby and parents are in their comfort zone.
The whole experience is incredibly relaxed. The baby leads us through the session, and we can have as many nappy changes or feeding breaks as the little baby requires.
Baby feet, tiny fingers, and soft skin make for perfect props. The beautiful images we create together capture the precious moments and the joy of a new family and become cherish forever memories.

Today, I’m excited to share Maya’s newborn photoshoot with you. Her mum and dad booked the session after Maya’s birth. Lakshmi expressed her feelings about Maya growing so quickly and her desire to capture this precious time. That’s why they decided to hire a professional baby photographer to come to their home, making it more comfortable for their little one and themselves.
They were seeking a relaxed atmosphere during the session and authentic photographs capturing these unique phases of their family life.
Maya was less than 2 weeks old when I visited their home. Little Maya was awake for most of the shoot, but this provided us with even more opportunities for a variety of pictures. We captured photos and videos in their living room, nursery, and bedroom. Lakshmi even chose one of the dresses from my client wardrobe.
